Claire is getting to be so smart. She understands a lot of words now and I feel like we are starting to really communicate with language. She can answer when you ask “What does the doggie say?” (Ruff ruff) and point to your eyes or nose when asked to do so. I don’t think she’s really had a first word yet, but she’s getting really close.

The baby days are ending and I can feel the toddler phase coming. Just yesterday she started to use a spoon to eat yogurt all by herself! She wants to do everything that we are doing now. She loves to point at other babies, doggies or birds when we are out and about. It’s really so fun to help her explore the world. I love it!

We are still working on the physical therapy stuff. She is starting to put more weight on her legs and standing up a bit. I see her becoming more willing to tip side-to-side and reach for things. She might just skip crawling though and go straight to walking. That would be fine by me. I read somewhere that in olden days people thought crawling was beastly and didn’t allow their babies to do it! So I think Claire will be fine either way.

Claire’s absolute favorite thing to eat is string cheese. She goes crazy when I pull a stick of it out of the fridge. It’s so cute– and easy to eat! She also still loves yogurt, toast, bananas, and baby food pouches. We went to Target today and Claire had a fit in the baby food isle. She wanted all those pouches!

Breastfeeding has gone down to 3 times a day. I think I will end it soon. I hate to do it, but my headaches have been really bad lately and I’m hoping it might help my hormonal situation to stop. I will be sad to give her that first cup of cow’s milk. I need our cuddling time! I have some hope though, Claire has started to give hugs and kisses when I ask for them. And just last night she cuddled up on my lap just for cuddling’s sake. Hopefully we will still have close bonding time even without the nursing!
