A few faces for now. Much updates to come.
Claire had a really good day at physical therapy on Friday. Progress had been slow lately and I will admit I was feeling frustrated and discouraged. But on Friday Claire seemed to decide that she was ready to turn a corner. She let her therapist Alyse maneuver her into lots of tough kneeling and crouching positions thought the session without ever melting down. I couldn’t believe how well she tolerated Alyse handling her- and how excited she was to try new things. I was so happy I almost cried!
This little person we call Claire is slowly showing us who she is. She is getting smarter and smarter, she has thoughts, makes plans and wants things. I’m realizing that my job as a parent is to guide her through this world and help her be her best self– a self that is already quite established!
These days Claire loves saying “hi” to everyone and everything. She says it very sweetly, and she makes a lot of friends everywhere we go. She also loves feeding treats to Honey from her highchair. She laughs with delight when Honey licks her fingers. She loves bobbing up and down to music and playing with any toy that lights up. Her favorite pastime is sorting things– she will take things in and out of a basket or box for MINUTES at a time, giving Mommy a welcome, although brief, break.
Claire’s top teeth have been coming in the last few weeks. What a slow, painful process! One big front tooth is finally pushed most the way out, and yesterday she started grinding it against her bottom teeth! Ack! What a terrible sound. Fortunately I think she is going to have nice big Wadsworth teeth, and a little grinding won’t hurt much.
Here are some photos from a lazy morning a couple weeks ago. Funny, most of our morning these days seem pretty lazy. Like pajamas until noon kind of lazy!
I’m so glad you are a photographer. You couldn’t have a more adorable subject. Please keep the pictures coming. What a precious child you have. I am looking so forward to your next visit. Love to you, Eric, and Claire, Grandma Carol
I decided my weekly project needed to end at Claire’s first birthday. It had to end sometime, and I was getting pretty sick of doing it every week. I think the end result is pretty cool! I got 42 weeks out of the 52…not too shabby.
