June Utah Trip

Claire and I took a trip to Utah for 8 days! It was so much fun to take Claire around town to see all her family. We also got to celebrate my Mom’s birthday, visit the cabin, go to a rehearsal dinner and wedding, shop downtown, and go out to lunch nearly every day! It was a great trip. Claire, as usual, was a stellar little traveler. She did great on both plane rides and was so easygoing as I dragged her all over Salt Lake.

Twenty-four weeks

Today Claire is sporting her new headband from Kerri and Kaiya! (Kerri hand-made it.)

Claire is getting closer to sitting up on her own this week. She is talking up a storm with new sounds that are more like words. We talk all day long. She is starting to enjoy cereal and baby food quite a lot. It’s a good thing, but it kinda makes me sad that she won’t need me as much anymore! Everywhere we go people ooh and awe over her. “Such a beautiful little thing!” everyone says. I love her so much! She is still the best little baby in the world!

San Diego

Claire took another big trip last week, this time to San Diego! We went to attend our friend Tess’ wedding on Mission Beach. It was a fun adventure, although pretty stressful. California is such a hectic place, especially with a baby. We had a special visit from Aunt Kara who drove down from LA to hang with us for a couple days. It was so fun to see her!

We pretty much did it all, including the San Diego Zoo on a jam-packed Saturday (note, bad idea!), Point Loma, Mission Beach, Coronado, La Jolla, and of course the wedding! To top it all off I caught a terrible cold and spent the last two days pretty exhausted. By the end of the trip we were more than ready to head home!

Ready to go to the wedding, finally as guests! All of us UPS girls with our babies! So fun to see Tess, Kerri and Kaiya!

Twenty-two and Twenty-three weeks

Ok, I got a little behind! Here is Claire at twenty-two weeks:

And here she is at twenty-three weeks:

Her first time wearing jeans! She is getting so big! I weighed her today and she is 15 lbs. She is still such a sweet baby.

I love all her funny little faces she is making. Sometimes she scrunches up her nose and makes this funny Wadsworth face that cracks me up. She likes to smack her lips a lot and blow spitty bubbles too. When she frowns and cries it is the saddest thing– she is a little dramatic but it melts my heart!

We are feeding her one meal a day from the spoon. She seems to like the rice cereal with bananas, but she has also been into the sweet potatoes and green beans.  It is so fun to watch her try new flavors, she always reacts with disgust at first but then seems to enjoy them.

Claire is really into grabbing at her toys now, and she even pets Honey. She has some toy keys that she loves to shake around wildly  She also seems really mesmerized by water bottles. I can swirl the water around and she will stare at it in awe.

Still waiting for Claire to roll over and/or sit up. I think she is getting there, she can sit in the bumbo seat for a long time now.

The spitting up is slowly fading away. She still does it once after most meals, but it is more manageable these days. I think that will be a thing of the past quite soon!
